Emma Wacu » Emma Wacu
I was born in Kenya and never really pursued modelling until I came to the United States in 2000. Like most aspiring and new models, I took some modelling classes which I now know I didn't need. I have had the opportunity to get my portfolio together but haven't had any real exposure yet. I have been through it all as far as auditioning and even did some pageants. I'm the Miss Metro Atlanta 2005 winner and was offered a contract with Elite Atlanta, which didn't go through.

Samuel Mwangi Muriithi - Where Perception Isn't Reality » Samuel Mwangi Muriithi - Where Perception Isn't Reality
This documentary is predicated on a little journey I took throughout some of the most prominent areas of Kenya. The main purpose of this short documentary was to show how much of a rich Country Kenya is, and how Kenyans as a people are some of the most creative beings in the world. The motivation behind this concept came while travelling into Kenya on the airplane.

Bethuel Mbugua - His Inspiring Untold Story Exclusive » Bethuel Mbugua - His Inspiring Untold Story Exclusive
I don't know about you, but I remember the days when I used to go to the village (shags) to cucus-grandma's (R.I.P.) of my father's side to stay with her for weeks in some thatched-old-school mud house. For breakfast we had to drink black tea Turungi aka True Tea aka black tea. With the tea, she would peel me off a dome of a Duma (Yam) and Gwaci (Sweet-Potato) from lunch the day before and had to munch on that till I finished. Dumas are no joke because two bites and you are full. She would watch me with a hawk-eye till I was done.

Kenyan Hard Life

Esau “Jim” Okumu - Kawangware or “Ungwaro” » Esau “Jim” Okumu - Kawangware or “Ungwaro”
It's a perfect comparison between the ones who have and those who lack. From the peace and quiet, nicely mowed green lawns, tall trees swaying gently to the evening breeze, few people walking around on the smooth tarmac pavements with no traffic with loud noises from hooting vehicles, dilapidated roads, half-naked malnutrition children screaming, hawkers calling for customer attention, masses of people walking around aimlessly with nothing to do, youths idling around in groups probably arguing about who is hotter between 50 cent and Tupac Shakur.

Exclusive Online Interview with - Boomba Clan Boomba Clan » Exclusive Online Interview with - Boomba Clan
Never the less, I have followed this group off and on to see where they're going in the Kenyan music scene and beyond that. I started finding more videos later on YouTube and on MySpace that just kept me interested in their music. Besides their funny themes, the beats that they have created come across with a genuine Hip-Hop appeal that you can dance to and makes all their other songs a great hit in night-clubs throughout Kenya.

Interview with Rap Artiste - Dezyne Dezyne » Interview with Rap Artiste - Dezyne
My name before this was PharaohD. It was a powerful name, but I felt like it was tainted by the music I made under it, so I followed the age-old African tradition of changing names when one finds a new path in life as a symbol of rebirth. To make things short, I sat down with a dictionary looking at words trying to find a meaningful one and when I reached "design" in the dictionary, it meant "creation, purpose in mind, work of art." So I changed the spelling and made it my name and ever since I've been "Dezyne."

Essy Graphixs » Essy Graphixs
From Painting, Drawing, Sculpting, Poetry, Graphic/Web Development, just to name a few, the passion for creating something new and better never ends. It is a great pleasure to see the result born out of the imagination from an idea conjured up in the mind. Be it a wild, calm or a conservative outcome, it is always an artists? agony whether the audience is going to appreciate the work produced. So anxiety and anticipation is always accompanied with every unveiling of an artwork. But these are just the sentiments of one Essy Wambui.

Kenyan Fashion

Mau Mau University Clothing Co. » Mau Mau University Clothing Co.
My story is to some extent ordinary, typical Kenyan middle class story. Go to school, study hard, pass your exams and after your degree you will get a job and live happily ever after. What happens when at 15 you realise that there is another story to life. A different way to live than what has been drummed into your mind throughout your entire life? At 15 I knew that I was born to be great and I was destined to live an extraordinary life.

Kenya Is Not Burning » Kenya Is Not Burning
Other than that nothing was different to me. However it was different in Nanyuki and later on in Meru where I spent one weekend this time around. People I knew and some strangers already had hard times making ends meet. Now for many but not all it was even harder, because of the post election violence that had parts of western Kenya go up in flames do to ethnic cleansing seemed to change the landscape for so many Kenyans who depended on tourism to pay their bills. Even though Nanyuki, Meru and most places in Kenya didn't suffer the wrath of the violence. However they did suffer the same financial hardships as the parts of Kenya that was burning.
